Garanti named "The Best Bank of Turkey"
for the 9th time

Garanti Bank has been selected as Turkey's best bank by Euromoney magazine, receiving the "Euromoney Award for Excellence" for the ninth time. In a statement, Euromoney said the award came as a result of the bank's impressive financial performance in 2007 despite the global turbulence. Euromoney awards are given, in July every year, to corporations which determine excellence standards for banking and capital markets in its country within the last one year.

Factors that led Garanti towards the award include Garanti's strong growth, top spot in the cash and non-cash lending-fields, leading role as a mortgage lender, strong client focus, rapid expansion of branches network, as well as trust of international investment banks on Garanti even during the global turbulence.

On the award, Ergun Özen, CEO of Garanti Bank, said, "We are extremely happy to have received this award for the ninth time, which is expected every year by the financial institutions impatiently. Euromoney Award For Excellence

Euromoney, one of the world's leading finance magazines, features insights, comments and articles about global banking, finance and capital markets. The magazine's excellence awards is celebrating its 17th year in 2008. The awards go to finance institututions and banks, which have demonstrated the best performance in their products in 100 countries. Winners are determined according to opinions of major finance journalists, customers and independent analysts.

Garanti receives two awards from Active Academy...
Garanti won the Active Academy's "Contribution to Foreign Trade" award for the fourth consecutive year at the fourth annual Active Academy Finance Summit.  Garanti Bank also received the Active Academy's "Retail Customer Satisfaction in Banking" award based on the voting of members of  www.makalem.com.

The summit is held to recognize the most successful banking and finance institutions. Awards are given in seven areas: Contribution to the Economy, Retail Banking, Retail Customer Satisfaction in Banking, Corporate Customer Satisfaction in Banking, Retail Customer Satisfaction in Insurance, Contribution to Foreign Trade and Corporate Social Responsibility. Winning institutions are selected through the evaluations of a jury and the views of close to 49,000 members of www.makalem.com.  

The jury cited criteria such as Garanti's contribution to the international competitiveness of banks and its support for the development of trade finance and services in granting the awards.

Garanti Bank's Internet Branch has been named Turkey's Best Consumer Internet Bank by respected international finance magazine Global Finance for 2006. 2005 Straight Through Processing Excellence

Deutsche Bank, one of the world's largest financial institutions, has presented Garanti Bank with the Excellence in Straight Through Processing Award for 2005, the fourth consecutive year DB has selected Garanti for this honor.

Deutsche Bank put Garanti's STP rate (Straight Through Processing) for foreign currency transactions as 96.7% for Euro payments and 95.8% for US Dollar payments, qualifying Garanti Bank the STP Excellence Award for both currencies.

Within the last month Garanti received similar awards for Excellence in Straight Through Processing from Citibank for a 93% error-free rate and from JP Morgan for a 98.9% error-free rate.
