Ottoman Bank Museum

The Ottoman Bank Museum , located in the former head office of the Ottoman Bank on Voyvoda Street, opened its doors to the visitors on 19 th December 2002. The museum, organized in and around the bank's safe room, draws on a wealth of information from the bank's archive to narrate the history of this institution, which operated as the central bank, bank of issue, and treasurer of the Ottoman Empire.

The Ottoman Bank Museum, which aims to figure among the worldwide museums of financial history, was founded in collaboration with Ottoman Bank Archive and Research Center. The project of the museum was run in a relatively short period of nine months by the collaboration of the team formed by historian Edhem Eldem, graphic designer Bülent Erkmen and architect Ihsan Bilgin.

The Ottoman Bank Museum is open every day from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. The admission fee is 3.000.000.- and the discounted fee is 1.000.000.- for students, teachers and visitors over 65.
