Garanti reached consolidated total assets of TL 116 billion and consolidated net profit of TL 3,100 million in 2009.
Türkiye Garanti Bankası A.Ş. announced its consolidated financial statements dated December 31, 2009. In 2009, the Bank posted a consolidated net profit of TL 3 billion 99 million 601 thousand. Garanti continued to contribute to Turkish economy extending a total of TL 68 billion 590 million 103 thousand in cash and non-cash loans while its consolidated total assets reached TL 116 billion 334 million 466 thousand. The Bank delivered an ROAA (Return on Average Assets) of 2.9% and ROAE (Return on Average Equity) of 27% in 2009.

The Istanbull Hedge Fund, launched by Garanti Bank, offers a new investment alternative to qualified investor profile clients. The fund which targets Garanti’s high net worth clients, as well as Garanti Masters Private Banking Clients requires a minimum contribution amount of TL 100 thousand, is regulated by the Capital Markets Board of Turkey. The Istanbull Hedge Fund which allows for three-times leverage, is so far the highest selling fund in the initial launch to public among similar funds. Teachers Academy Foundation takes off!..
Pilot phase of the "No Limit to Teach" project has been completed.
As a reflection of its commitment to corporate social responsibility, Garanti Bank has taken its ongoing contributions to education one step further. The Teachers Academy Foundation (ÖRAV), established by Garanti Bank to carry out sustainable educational activities directed towards personal and professional development of teachers, has completed its initial phase. Management responsibility of the foundation which is headquartered in Bahçekapı İstanbul, was undertaken by experienced educator Kayhan Karlı. ÖRAV, taking over the "No Limit to Teach" project which was initiated jointly by Garanti Bank and the Ministry of National Education on May 20th 2008, has successfully completed the pilot phase that involves the training of 1.227 teachers and school administrators.

Within the scope of the 53rd Session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women, a session on Turkey, entitled "Supporting Women Entrepreneurs: Examples from Turkey" will be held on Tuesday, 10 March 2009, between 1.15 pm - 2.45 pm, at the United Nations headquarters in New York with the support of the Permanent Mission of Turkey to the United Nations. Being the first Turkish company which rank among 34.000 "Investors in People" (IIP) institutions in the world as a result of its investments towards people, Garanti Bank, after a 10-day review, has qualified for re-accreditation of its IIP certificate. Four foreign consultants from IIP have interviewed 400 people including CEO Ergun Özen and 4 Executive Vice Presidents and concluded that the world-class HR applications of the bank are still operational as before while also maintaining the quality. Thus Garanti Bank, qualifying for the certificate in 2005 by meeting all 10 indicators and 39 data of the IIP Standard, successfully completed the review conducted every three years as.

The Bank's return on equity was realized as 22%, and its return on assets was realized as 2.1%.
