Amsterdam-based GarantiBank International N.V. ("GBI") was established on 3 October 1990 and started its operations in April 1991. GBI is owned by Garanti Bank Turkey, one of the three largest financial institutions of Turkey. General Electric Consumer Finance, a subsidiary of the well-known American corporation General Electric, owns 20.85% of our parent bank's shares. GBI has been functioning under the laws of the Netherlands and the supervision of the Dutch Central Bank (DNB).

GBI has been delivering added-value through boutique solutions in trade finance, private banking and retail banking. In trade finance, we provide transactional commodity finance solutions, structured trade finance and syndication solutions and secondary-market added value to our clients and counterparts around the globe. The Bank offers a full range of Private Banking services to an exclusive group of high net-worth individual and institutional clients, covering major developed and emerging markets, with particular expertise and emphasis on Turkey. Furthermore, it offers diversified retail banking services in Germany and Netherlands.
